Using a dependable knot can make the difference of you landing or losing that fish of a lifetime. Spending the time to learn a few basic knots is well worth the effort. There is no need to learn to tie all the knots. Just pick out a few that will meet your needs. For example, I do a great deal of fishing and get by nicely using the following knots: Uni-knot, Clinch knot, Abaco loop, and Dropper loop. There are a few others I use, but not too often.
